Darryl V. Pratt, Attorney practices law with the Law Offices of Darryl V. Pratt, P.C. in Frisco, Texas with the assistance of his legal staff. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.

Mr. Pratt helps individuals, families, and business owners with many of their important legal needs. His practice areas include Estate Planning, Elder Law, Special Needs Planning, Estate and Trust Administration, Business Law, Bankruptcy (Chapter 7) and Real Estate Law.

Mr. Pratt received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, from the University of Oklahoma, with highest honors. He then received a law degree from the Oklahoma City University School of Law.

He worked in accounting/tax positions with two of the former Big 8 accounting firms in Dallas, Texas prior to joining the Dallas County District Attorney's Office where he gained invaluable trial experience. He then worked in a smaller boutique tax law firm in North Dallas prior to establishing his law practice in Frisco.

Mr. Pratt is a member of the Texas Bar Association (www.texasbar.com), the Collin County Bar Association, the Denton County Bar Association, the Dallas County Bar Association, the Frisco Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Estate Planning and Probate Law, Real Property Section of the Texas Bar Association.

Mr. Pratt has received an AV Peer Review Rating by the LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell organization (www.martindale.com).  According to that organization, as the result of an extensive and confidential peer review by other attorneys, the AV Rating (which "identifies a lawyer with very high to preeminent legal ability") was awarded to Mr. Pratt and is a reflection of Mr. Pratt's "expertise, experience, integrity and overall professional excellence." He was also recently named as a "Texas Rising Star" "Super Lawyer" by Texas Monthly and Law & Politics magazines.

As an example of a practice area, Mr. Pratt in his Elder Law practice combines a knowledge of traditional Estate Planning (Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, Living Wills, etc.) with a knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, and incapacity planning to ensure that life choices are preserved as senior adult clients direct. He often helps clients become eligible for Medicaid when possible to pay for nursing home care. He can also address the planning needs of families with disabled children or adults through the use of special needs trusts and other planning measures.

Mr. Pratt enjoys presenting important information about these legal needs and has been a guest speaker and faculty member on numerous occasions to senior citizens groups, health organizations, attorneys, and other professional organizations, including Continuing Legal Education seminars for lawyers, and the Texas Society of CPAs.

On a personal note, Mr. Pratt was born and raised in Oklahoma (but he got to Texas as fast as he could). He is married and has two daughters and enjoys being active in his church.
